Injuries: Leonard Fournette, D.J. Hayden ruled out

After briefly returning to the field this past Sunday against the New York Jets, the Jacksonville Jaguars will be without running back Leonard Fournette once again for Week 5’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Alongside Fournette, head coach Doug Marrone also announced that the team will also be without nickel cornerback D.J. Hayden this Sunday as the veteran continues to nurse a toe injury.

Fournette’s status for Week 5’s game was what most expected it would be as he re-aggravated the hamstring injury he sustained Week 1 against the New York Giants in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Jets. The injury ended up sidelining him up until this past Sunday and made him a limited participant in the practice sessions of Week’s 3-4.

As for Hayden, his status isn’t a surprise either as coach Marrone said he’d be a week-to-week case last Monday. Hayden sustained his toe injury prior to Week 4’s game against the Tennessee Titans and has missed the Jags’ last two games as a result.

Heading forward, running back T.J. Yeldon will continue to start in Fournette’s place, while the Jags have used both safety Ronnie Harrison and cornerback Tyler Patmon in Hayden’s place the last two weeks.
