A recent electromyogram showed that the nerve in the left leg of the linebacker of the Dallas Cowboys, Jaylon Smith continues to regenerate with the hope of recovering in the coming months.
In the spring he was able to lift his foot and flex his fingers which generated optimism about his return from a serious knee injury.
When training camp practices in Oxnard California begin, the Cowboys will examine whether Smith can return to the field.
In the meantime he will continue to wear a protection on his left foot although it is not the ankle and foot he used after surgery. The team provided tailor-made protection that they have used with other players to help Smith keep his foot flexed.
Smith has stated that he will be able to return and has said that it feels the same as before the injury occurred.
