Beckham was going up for a reception when a Chargers defender landed on his left ankle. He took a helmet to the knee but his ankle was caught in the turf. It was the same ankle that Beckham injured in the preseason against the Browns.
He had a game-leading 97 yards and a touchdown before he was injured.
He fractured his ankle and Giants placed him on injured reserve. He will have surgery later this week.
The Giants’ training staff brought out the cart, and he was taken off the field in tears. Earlier in the game, the Giants lost receivers Brandon Marshall, Dwayne Harris, and Sterling Shepard. Harris was also placed on IR.
