Cowboys Jourdan Lewis found not guilty at trial

Jourdan Lewis has been found not guilty in a domestic violence case in Michigan

Lewis, a third-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys, won his court case in Michigan’s 15th District Court. He faced charges for misdemeanor domestic violence and assault and battery counts from a March incident., in which Lewis’ ex girlfriend accused him of grabbing her by the neck and dragging her across the living room. Lewis’ version of the events differed.

Lewis denied any wrongdoing and spoke of his innocence after the Cowboys selected him.

“I completely think that all charges will be dropped, and I think I will be exonerated from everything,” Lewis said. “I’m completely innocent. I believe that wholeheartedly.”

Lewis, 21, is expected to join the Cowboys on Wednesday. He has been in Michigan the first two days of training camp for the trial. The Cowboys have stood by Lewis throughout the process.

Lewis had six interceptions in his career at Michigan, and was a first-team All-America in 2015 and 2016. He is expected to compete for a starting cornerback job with the Cowboys.
